Combining an innovative root-based dictionary
and a new system of classifying Georgian verbs morphosyntactically may be the key to understanding the notoriously
complex Georgian verb. A root-based
dictionary better represents a verb's morphology vis-à-vis the more opaque
traditional formats, and this new classificatory system better preserves the
link between a verb's form and argument structure to account for how voice and version interact in the Georgian verb.
